Haka is a ceremonial dance of Maori in New Zealand. It used to be a cheering dance before the wars. The most well-known performance is from the New Zealand national rugby team ‘All Blacks’, who danced HAKA every time before each game. The traditional culture pays respect to both the opponents and audiences. This dance does not only proclaim strength, but also to provoke against the opponents.
Haka is not only performed before the games, but also performed to welcome distinguished guests, or to acknowledge great achievements, gatherings, occasions or funerals for memorizing and admiring the ancestors.
Generally, the HAKA performed by the All Blacks is called Ka Mate. HAKA differs based on occasions. The performers mostly do stamping of the feet, slapping against the body, protruding of the tongue and staring wildly. The contents of performance describe the ancestors and major events in the history.

The lyrics of Concrete Jungle, the hits from the album ‘Catch A Fire’ released by father of reggae Bob Marley & The Wailer in 1973, convey the message that a lonely soul has been trapped in the urban jungle. Although it is an upbeat reggae song, the voice from the vocal still reveals the helplessness of modern people in real life.
The lyrics mentions that: “No chains around my feet, but I'm not free, I'm not free.”
During that era, young people left their hometowns to work in the big cities. All they looked up and saw were skyscrapers. The beautiful skyline was no longer visible. The dreams in their minds could not be fulfilled because of the realities.

#FLIPPOS design
The design continuously adopted the classic style - Tā moko of FLIPPOS with the color of All Blacks team to show the players' heroic spirit. The design expresses the perfect blending of Europe and Maori culture and the heritages from generations when the hosiery is folded.
In fact, New Zealand is by far the best country in the world for integrating European immigrants and indigenous people, whether in terms of law or traditional cultural preservation. Ka Mate has been designed to express the integration of ethical diversity and the respect towards the traditional culture from New Zealand.

The design adopts the silhouettes of famous buildings worldwide, such as Taipei 101, Dubai Burj Al Arab, Empire State Building, and the Big Ben.
A fierce dinosaur appears to break through a concrete building in the late-night city when the hosiery is folded.
Which means that everyone in the city has a part of the soul seeking for freedom; eventually he or she will find a way out even in a harsh environment.
Concrete Jungle has been designed to commemorate Mr. Yong-Lai Ku, he is the father of the founder of FLIPPOS. We sincerely gratitude him for his contribution and dedication to the development of green building in Taiwan.
