Trendsetter @lizelcat shares flip socks

I believe no one is unaware of Empress Dowager Cixi, a Qing Dynasty empress famous for her extravagance.
Cixi's demands for quality of life were so meticulous that even the socks she wore were particularly exquisite. It is said that she spent ten thousand taels of silver on socks alone in a single year.
How could ancient socks be so exquisite?
This is mentioned in "Memoirs of a Palace Maid," the autobiography of Rong'er, one of Cixi's maids. Since Cixi's socks were made of white soft silk and had no elasticity, to prevent them from slipping inside her shoes, artisans had to hand-sew socks that perfectly fit her feet. The seams had to be straight and have just the right tension, and there had to be beautiful embroidery.
It's clear that not only good materials were required, but also highly skilled artisans. And, not very environmentally friendly, the Empress Dowager's socks, no matter how exquisite, were only worn once! It's not hard to understand the high cost over a year.
But we in modern times are much luckier. If we want to pay attention to details, we have compression functional socks made with high-tech nylon—@flippossocks ♥️. They not only relieve discomfort from exercise or standing for long periods, but their beautiful design allows them to be worn inside out, and they look super chic for everyday wear too.
Most importantly, the silver fiber is antibacterial, so your feet won't smell, and there's no need to throw them away after one wear 🤣.
Alright, I've really liked these socks since I first encountered them a few years ago, and I genuinely think they're beautiful, so I don't just wear them for running 😌. Gotta look good before heading off for the Mid-Autumn Festival reunion.
