It was an era emerging from the shadows of post-war gloom, when the world relearned the meaning of "running."
Marathons were no longer just elite competitions but became a popular sporting faith.
Among the world's six major marathons, Berlin, Chicago, and New York successively ignited urban long-distance running crazes in the 70s. Each event symbolized freedom, perseverance, and breakthroughs in humanity.
In 1972, the Boston Marathon first allowed female participants, marking not only a turning point in sports history but also an awakening in social culture.
The running track became a symbol of equal rights, and each stride redefined the boundaries of the era.
