What made you start running?

Everyone begins for a different reason. The reasons we hear most often tend to be positive—health, stress relief, or simply wanting to look and feel better. But many people actually begin running because of something difficult: heartbreak, a setback at work, or even the loss of someone important. Running becomes a way to shift focus, process emotion, or rethink where life is heading.

This series, built around the theme of “Taipei Broken Heart Girl,” reflects the experience of many runners. Running becomes a way to release what is inside, turn pain into strength, and keep moving forward. Perhaps there is a broken-hearted girl or boy inside all of us, constantly flipping life around on the road ahead. Flip your life!

For this project, we invited illustrator Su Xia to create a series of graffiti-inspired works based on her own emotional journey, interpreting “Taipei Broken Heart Girl” through three stages of heartbreak.

For the fabric, we used FLIPPOS’ signature Janerino® performance merino wool. We also explored a completely different 3D panel-cut construction. Both the fabric treatment and graphic printing use a process of deconstruction and reconstruction to emphasize the idea of being “broken apart”—just as a heart can become stronger after it has been shattered and healed.

Broken Heart Girl
End of the road. You catch the last train back to Taipei, your steps carrying the disarray of someone escaping. Your reflection in the window, the city rushing past—you hate how familiar and predictable the scene feels, like something pulled straight from an old movie. You try to force out a few tears, hoping to give the ending a dramatic final note, only to realize that the relief of being free is stronger than the sadness. Then you smile. Turns out, turning the page can happen in an instant. Run. Forget the heartbreak. 💔

The classic hangtag can be reused as a coaster, while the packaging bag is recyclable and designed for reuse.
