[Ka Mate Retro War Dance Remake MCP]
Haka is a traditional Māori dance from New Zealand. It was once a morale-boosting dance before battles, and now it is most famously performed by the New Zealand national rugby team, the All Blacks, before each match. Beyond showcasing strength, it also carries a challenging connotation, demonstrating the highest respect for the audience and opponents through their national culture on the field.
However, Haka is not only performed before rugby matches. It is also an enthusiastic welcome for guests, a celebration of special achievements, a gathering ceremony between tribes, and is even used at funerals to express remembrance and reverence for the deceased.
Generally, the Haka performed by the All Blacks is called Ka Mate. The Haka performed on different occasions varies, but often involves stomping, slapping the body, sticking out the tongue, and wide-eyed expressions. The content typically describes historical ancestors and significant events.

[Germani MCP]
The Celts occupied many European countries, including the island of Great Britain, from 2000 BCE onwards.
In the 1st century CE, the rising Roman Empire drove the Celts north, occupying the southern part of Great Britain. Towards the end of the 4th century, the Celts attempted to reclaim their territory from the weakening Roman Empire, but were unexpectedly disrupted by invading Germanic barbarians.
Famous films like "King Arthur" and "Braveheart" narrate the centuries-long entanglement between the Celts and the Germani. It wasn't until after the 16th century that Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland successively signed Acts of Union with England, forming the present-day United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the UK.

    [Ka Mate Retro]
The haka is a traditional Māori dance from New Zealand. In the past, it was performed as a rallying war dance before battle. Today, it is most widely recognized through New Zealand’s national rugby team, the All Blacks, who perform it before matches. Beyond expressing strength and challenge, it is also a way of showing the highest respect—using their own traditional culture—to both the audience and their opponents.

However, the haka is not performed only before sporting events. It is also used as a warm welcome for guests, a celebration of special achievements, a ritual for tribal gatherings, and even at funerals, where it is performed to express remembrance and reverence for the deceased.

Generally speaking, the haka performed by the All Blacks is called Ka Mate. Different occasions call for different haka, but they often include stomping, footwork, body slapping, tongue protrusion, and wide-eyed expressions. The content usually recounts ancestors and major events in history.

The Celts had occupied many parts of Europe, including Britain, since around 2000 BC.
In the 1st century AD, the rising Roman Empire pushed the Celts northward and took control of southern Britain. After the late 4th century, the Celts tried to reclaim their land from the weakening Roman Empire, but were instead disrupted by invading Germanic tribes.

Famous films such as “Knights of the Round Table” and “A Better Tomorrow” tell stories related to the centuries-long entanglement between the Celts and the Germanic tribes (Germani). Eventually, after the 16th century, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland successively signed Acts of Union with England, forming what is now known as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, or simply the UK.

    #FLIPPOS Socks Design

    [Ka Mate Retro]
This design continues FLIPPOS’ classic Tā Moko style, paired with the All Blacks’ signature color palette to express the brave and warrior-like spirit of the players. When the socks are flipped down, they symbolize the perfect fusion of European and Māori culture, passed down from generation to generation.

In fact, whether in legal systems or in the preservation of traditional culture, New Zealand is one of the best examples in the world of integration between European settlers and local Indigenous peoples. Through this design, Ka Mate also expresses New Zealand’s embrace of ethnic diversity and its respect for traditional culture.

    [Germani]
In Irish legend, the Celts regarded the shamrock as a sacred symbol representing endless vitality.

We incorporated irregular shamrock shapes throughout the socks, while using four different knitting structures to represent the four nations of the British Commonwealth. The green color is inspired by the Celts, while the brown representing the Germani is a blend of black, red, and yellow. This product was extremely difficult to develop—just as it has taken thousands of years for different cultures and peoples to find a way to live together in harmony.

After the socks are flipped, contrasting colors echo the main palette, symbolizing that while not every race or culture may fully agree with one another, mutual respect and tolerance are the true foundation of human progress toward genuine civilization.
