[The Dalit - Lotus MCP]
The caste system is an ancient social hierarchy, with the most prominent example being India's caste system culture, which is built upon the Hindu concept of reincarnation. The caste system comprises four major castes, categorizing Indians by social status into Brahmins (priests), Kshatriyas (warriors), Vaishyas (farmers and merchants), and Sudras (slaves or laborers). There are significant disparities in marriage, justice, social welfare, and status based on one's caste.
After India gained independence from British colonial rule in 1947, the caste system was officially abolished by law, making discrimination based on caste illegal. However, its influence can still be observed in daily life. Nevertheless, the Indian government, which has undergone multiple changes in political parties and has had two Dalit presidents, continues to strive for democracy and human rights equality to overturn the deeply entrenched caste system in the hearts of most Indians.

I still remember watching a film as a child called "The Last of the Mohicans." It depicted a war fought in 1757 between the British and French over colonial interests in America, involving the local Native American tribes.
Statistics show that during the colonial period in the 16th century, approximately 25 million Native Americans were killed by white settlers. As Native Americans had no written language, their languages and cultures were forgotten when their tribes were annihilated.
Although historical records of Native American culture are scarce, as early as the 11th century, Native Americans began creating handicrafts and jewelry. They did not write, but through tribal chiefs, they passed down traditional craft techniques orally from generation to generation, continuing to this day, expressing the spirit of a nation through art.
This tradition has profoundly influenced contemporary pop culture, with silver jewelry brands such as Goro's and Cody Sanderson inheriting the spirit of traditional Navajo art. (The Navajo are the largest surviving Native American group in North America today.)

The caste system is an ancient form of social hierarchy, and one of its most well-known examples is the caste culture of India, which is rooted in the Hindu concept of reincarnation. The caste system consists of four major castes, dividing Indians by rank into Brahmins (priests), Kshatriyas (warriors), Vaishyas (farmers and merchants), and Shudras (servants or laborers). Differences in caste have historically led to major inequalities in marriage, justice, social welfare, and status.
After India gained independence from British rule in 1947, the caste system was officially abolished by law, and discrimination based on caste became illegal. However, its influence can still be seen in daily life. Even so, through multiple changes in political leadership and the election of two Dalit presidents, the Indian government continues to strive for democracy and equality in human rights, seeking to overturn the deeply rooted caste mentality held by many Indians.

Do you remember the movie you may have watched as a child, The Last of the Mohicans? It tells the story of how, in 1757, Britain and France fought over colonial interests in North America, drawing the local Native American tribes into the conflict.
According to statistics, during the colonial era beginning in the 16th century, around 25 million Native Americans were killed by white settlers. Because many Native American tribes had no written language, the languages and cultures of those who were wiped out were also forgotten.
However, historical records of Native American culture are relatively scarce. As early as the 11th century, Native Americans had already begun producing crafts and jewelry. Though they had no writing system, tribal leaders passed down the techniques of traditional craftsmanship orally from generation to generation, preserving them to this day and using art to embody the spirit of a people.
This tradition continues to have a profound influence on today’s popular culture. Silver jewelry brands such as Goro’s and Cody Sanderson, for example, both carry on the spirit of traditional Navajo culture. (The Navajo are currently the largest surviving Native American tribe in North America.)

#FLIPPOS Socks Design
[The Dalit – Lotus]
The design is inspired by the traditional Indian body art Henna (called Mehendi in Hindi), which refers to the use of the henna plant. Originating in Egypt 5,000 years ago, it spread to the Middle East and later to India, where it became a symbol of blessing and good fortune, as well as an essential part of traditional festivals and weddings. In earlier times, henna in India was often applied by people of lower caste to those of higher social status. But as times have changed, henna has evolved into a craft that can be learned by anyone, regardless of age or occupation.
The overall design is based on the iconic image of Ganesha, the god of wisdom. The elements include the Mandala often seen in traditional motifs, symbolizing the center of all things and the universe as a whole. FLIPPOS believes that human conviction comes from thought, so we incorporated the Sahasrara crown chakra, which represents wisdom and heightened thinking, together with Ganesha’s lotus seat. The lotus symbolizes maintaining a pure heart and living with gratitude, which brings happiness. When the socks are flipped down, the lighter tones become the main visual focus, symbolizing henna already painted onto our skin, spiritually and psychologically bringing us energy, joy, and good fortune.
[Mohicans Retro]
This design is composed of Native American elements, featuring the eagle and feathers as symbols of tribal nobility, sacredness, and bravery. The medicine wheel represents the knowledge of the universe and all things, structured from a circle and a cross, while the dreamcatcher symbolizes a wish for good luck.
When the socks are flipped down, the design reveals a Native American chief and eagle symbols, created in memory of every Native American who lost their life in the North American Indian Wars. It signifies that their souls now soar through the sky with the eagle, while their spirit lives on forever.
