Ever since Neil Armstrong first stepped onto the Moon in 1969 and took “one giant leap for mankind,” becoming an astronaut has been a dream shared by generations of children.
For children in Taiwan, that dream has never been entirely out of reach. As early as 1989, New Schoolmate Bookstore, then one of Taiwan’s leading bookstore chains, helped introduce the U.S. Space Camp program to Taiwan. Children were given the opportunity to travel to Alabama and take part in immersive space mission simulations designed to encourage independent thinking, creativity, and new ways of solving problems. Since 1982, Space Camp has welcomed more than 900,000 graduates, some of whom later went on to become astronauts.
#FLIPPOS Socks Design
For this design, we experimented with space-dyed yarn for the first time, using its natural gradient transitions to create the visual depth and atmosphere of the Milky Way.
The main visual features the planets of the solar system orbiting the Sun. At the same time, the cylindrical form of the sock creates a sense of continuity, inspired by ideas of a universe that may be finite yet without a visible boundary—where vast space ultimately connects back into itself.
When FLIPPOS Socks are flipped down, the little astronaut finally appears standing on the Moon, carrying the FLIPPOS spirit of transforming life, pursuing dreams, and moving toward the impossible.
The original idea of FLIPPOS hosiery is to create a pair of compression stocking fulfilling functions in every way. You could wear it to the office and exercise after work as well. Simply with ONE SAME pair of stocking.
Considering that most people either sit or stand for a long time for work in which cause the fatigue condition upon feet and calf, we develop our hosiery to apply ‘graduated compression’ from the sole of the foot to calf to improve this situation.
Additionally, wearing FLIPPOS during exercise could reduce muscle vibration effectively, produce greater strength, and improve the speed of fatigue recovery after exercising.

In order to cater for any occasion and any outfit, FLIPPOS creates the first compression hosiery that can be folded. You could wear it knee-high or fold it to the calf. The item can be transformed into socks within seconds.
