The 1970s marked one of the most transformative chapters in marathon history. As the world emerged from the shadows of the postwar years, people began to rediscover the meaning of running. The marathon was no longer reserved for elite competition—it became a movement embraced by everyday people.

Among the World Marathon Majors, Berlin, Chicago, and New York each helped ignite a new urban running culture during the decade. Every race came to represent freedom, resilience, and the breaking of human limits.

In 1972, the Boston Marathon officially opened its field to women, marking not only a turning point in sports history, but also a broader cultural shift. The track became a symbol of equality, and every stride helped push the boundaries of its time.

FLIPPOS selects premium Sensitive Fabrics® from Italy and applies an advanced washing process to create a worn-in texture reminiscent of denim. Every inch develops its own distinctive character, blurring the line between performance apparel and fashion.

Using high-definition printing technology, vintage-inspired patterns are recreated directly on the base fabric to create the visual effect of mixed-material patchwork while preserving the fabric’s technical advantages.
