The origins of the marathon can be traced back to the ancient Greek legend of 490 BC, when the messenger Pheidippides ran 42.195 kilometers from Marathon to Athens to deliver news of victory, only to collapse and die from exhaustion. In honor of his heroic feat, the marathon became one of the most iconic events in the Olympic Games.
Over time, the marathon evolved into a global movement, and Taiwan has been no exception. Today, more than 300 marathons and road running events are held across Taiwan each year, attracting large numbers of participants. Running has gradually become part of everyday life, bringing together enthusiasts from different generations and cultural backgrounds.

Within Taiwan’s running culture, Fuhe Bridge holds a place of special significance. Known for its flat route and pleasant surroundings, it has become an ideal training ground for runners. Whether in the early morning or at dusk, it is common to see people there doing warm-up runs, long-distance sessions, or preparing for upcoming marathons. Over time, a unique running culture has grown around this space. The phrase “See you under the bridge” has become a familiar greeting among runners—more than just a meeting point, it reflects a spirit of mutual support, encouragement, and shared dedication. In this space, runners are never truly alone. The exchange and unspoken understanding between them have allowed Fuhe Bridge to become more than just a bridge; it has become a symbolic landmark in the hearts of runners.

#FLIPPOS Socks Design
This design draws inspiration from bridges—especially suspension bridges—which symbolize connection, support, and the development of culture. The front of the sock captures the unique character of the well-known running route from Fuhe Bridge to Beixin Bridge, blending elements of urban culture and running. Along the sock, details such as graffiti-inspired visuals, road markings, and iconic local phrases including “Pedestrian First,” “Crosswalk,” “Jingmei,” and “Xindian” reflect the way running interprets and connects with the city.
When FLIPPOS Socks are flipped, the suspension bridge becomes the visual focal point. Its structure symbolizes the role of bridges within the city—not only connecting spaces and people, but also representing stability and strength. For runners, a bridge is more than part of a training route; it is also a symbol of support, of carrying dreams, and of pursuing personal limits.
Through this innovative design, the spirit of Fuhe Bridge is woven into the sock, extending the culture of running and allowing every step to carry the sense of steadiness and strength that a bridge represents.
