What Is Art?
Hayata Bunzo is a Japanese botanist. In 1903, he worked in the Taiwan Governor's Office and was responsible for the research of plants in Taiwan. He is known as the father of plants in Taiwan. During his stay in Taiwan, he published 10 volumes of "Atlas of Plants in Taiwan" and discovered and named more than 1,600 species of Taiwanese plants. Because the pattern and color of this tie-dye are very similar to the Taiwan maple leaves, therefore it was named Hayata to commemorate Professor Hayata Bunzo, and thank him for his great contribution to Taiwan's education.

Tie-dyeing is a traditional Chinese folk dyeing process. It has a history of thousands of years since the Qin and Han Dynasties, and has spread to India, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries. But nowadays it has been replaced by digital printing.
The process of tie-dye typically consists of folding, twisting, pleating, or crumpling fabric or a garment, before binding with string or rubber bands, followed by the application of dye or dyes.
